What Is Kundalini Reiki?
Kundalini is a Sanskrit word: that literally means ‘coiled’, or ‘the coiled power’. It refers to an energy that affects the body – an unconscious, instinctive force or Shakti, that lies coiled at the base of the spine. It is often portrayed as a goddess or as a sleeping serpent that remains asleep at the base of the spine, coiled three and a half times around the root chakra. The full name for this Goddess is Kundalini Shakti and she represents the flowering of the divine Shakti energy. As she awakens and travels up the spine, she unblocks the chakras and allows the energy to flow.
The energy coming through the body as the serpent travels up the spine is often referred to as “Kundalini Fire” because more often than not there is a heat in the body associated with this energy.
Shakti originates from the Sanskrit word ‘Shak’ that means: “to be able”. Shatki is considered a sacred force or empowerment, primordial cosmic energy and represents the dynamic forces that are thought to move through the entire universe. Shakti is also the concept, or personification, of divine feminine creative power, often referred to as ‘The Great Divine Mother’. On the earthly plane, Shakti most actively manifests through female embodiment and creativity/fertility, though it is also present in males in its potential unmanifest form.
The awakening of the Kundalini is said by some to be the only way of attaining Divine Wisdom (Enlightenment). It manifests as an “awakening of inner knowledge” and brings with itself “pure joy, pure knowledge and pure love”.
Kundalini Reiki works directly with this Sacred Cosmic Energy. It awakens the coiled serpent that remains dormant at the base of the spine until activated. Once awakened and activated, this Kundalini energy is able to move through the body thereby embodying the creative and healing power of the universe.
